Axiom Mission 4 Brings New Nations to the ISS

On June 26, SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft docked with the International Space Station, carrying the Axiom Mission 4 crew. For the first time in decades, astronauts from India (Shubhanshu Shukla), Poland (Sławosz Uznański‑Wiśniewski), and Hungary (Tibor Kapu) joined an orbital mission. The international team will conduct over 60 science and tech experiments during their two-week stay aboard the station.

This mission marks a major milestone for private spaceflight and national space programs alike. Each astronaut represents expanding space ambitions back home, including experiments in biotech, physics, and microgravity manufacturing.

Axiom’s growing role in bridging public-private partnerships is also in focus. By offering ticketed access to orbit for national agencies and researchers, it’s helping reshape who gets to go to space, and why.
