SpaceX Hits 500th Falcon 9 Launch

SpaceX launches their Falcon 9 rocket on July 2nd, 2025 with a batch of Starlink satellites from SLC-40 in Cape Canaveral, FL.

On July 1, SpaceX completed its 500th Falcon 9 launch, reinforcing its dominance in commercial spaceflight. The mission, Starlink 10-25, deployed 27 Starlink V2 mini satellites into low Earth orbit. Even more impressive than the number is the reusability milestone: the first-stage booster (B1067) was flown for the 29th time, setting a new record for booster reuse.

This achievement highlights how far SpaceX has come since its first Falcon 9 launch in 2010. The company has turned what was once considered risky and ambitious, landing and reusing rockets, into a routine part of its operations. The cost savings and launch cadence made possible by this strategy are reshaping the economics of access to space.

Falcon 9 has been a workhorse not only for SpaceX’s own Starlink constellation but also for NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense, and private customers around the globe. The 500th flight isn’t just a number; it’s a statement about operational maturity, reliability, and scalability.

In a launch landscape crowded with new entrants, legacy players, and state-backed competitors, SpaceX continues to raise the bar. And with the upcoming Starship missions aiming for deep space, the Falcon 9’s legacy sets a strong foundation for what comes next.
